About Chaela
Hailing from the Northwest, Chaela Herridge-Meyer made her first recording at the age of 9 as a backyard talk show host. Since then she has carried her recorder on many travels throughout Latin America, where she worked with several worker run cooperatives, and West Africa where she and her sister worked with a maternity clinic and Agbanga Karite, a women's shea butter cooperative. After moving to New York City in 2006 she worked as both an intern for StoryCorps and as a coordinator for the Griot Initiative. Chaela is now on the road with StoryCorps as a MobileBooth Facilitator.
